The Lego Prayer
(Adapted from flamecreativekids.blogspot.com and kidssundayschool.com)
You will need: legos or duplos
Scripture: James 5:13-18
Leader:
* Is anyone happy today?! Great! You should sing songs of praise.
*Did anybody get into any trouble this week? We can pray!
*I’ve heard a few of you have not been feeling well this week. Was anyone sick?
Well I was reading in my bible this week and in James 5: 13-14, 16 it says
13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.
16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
God is so good and will help us when we are happy, sad, sick or even when we're in trouble. God will give us wisdom, strength and understanding if we only ask Him. Why pray? It's simple, to talk with God and to get His direction for our lives. God answers our prayers. When we pray our friendship with God grows.

So this morning we are going to learn a new prayer and I need moms and dads to pay attention because I am hoping you will them pray this prayer this week. This special prayer is called the “Lego Prayer”.
I will tell you how it works with this big lego and then we wil pray together with our legos. Ready to talk to God?!
Large lego:
1. The first step of this prayer is to hold your one lego and tell God one reason why He is awesome. For example, God, you are…loving. You are my creator… You see, one lego equals one reason He is awesome.
2. Step two, for each bump on your lego you must pray for a different person. Ask God to bless them this week.
3. Step 3, find someone with the same color lego as you or the same number of bumps. Say thank you to God for friends and pray for anyone who doesn’t have a friend and might be lonely.
4. Say “AMEN”
When you are praying at home with your family this week you can add on a few other prays too like….
Stack up our legos and pray for our church and neighborhood.
Trade legos with someone and pray for that person.
Use the lego colors to pray for things like green legos mean to pray for nature or orange legos give thanks for food.
Make up your own prayers but remember to talk to God in prayer all week!
