Message:
Well, good morning. I sure am glad to see all of you young folks up here this morning, because I need your help with an important project. You see (name of someone like spouse or family member) has been after me to clean out the closet where I had stored all of these stuffed toys that had accumulated all these many years ago.
I’ll tell you, there were all kinds of strange toys sitting in that closet. Now first off, I was just going to throw them all away in the trash, but then I thought maybe I should keep just the best looking ones for (name of grandkids or familymembers). So today I was hoping you kids could tell me which ones to get rid of.
(Pass out all the stuffed toys and ask everyone to check them out. Look at some toys and comment on age, color, size, shape, smell, etc. and ask kids each time what to do with the toy.)
(If someone does not like a particular toy, remember something nice about it and save it too.)
You know, kids, in their own way each of these toys has something special about it that makes it worth saving. You just have to get to know each one better, I guess.
You know, Jesus loves all of us the same way. Not just one of us, but everyone, even if they are build a little differently, or have a different color, or look a bit different. There’s a song I bet you know that says just that, “Jesus Loves the Little Children.” Could you help me sing it this morning? It goes like this.
Jesus loves the little children,
All the children of the world.
Red and yellow, black and white,
All are precious in His sight.
Jesus loves the little children of the world.
Thanks for setting me straight this morning. I think I better get all these wonderful toys back so I can share them. (in some cases with small groups you may let each child choose a stuffed toy to keep)

Jesus Loves the Little Children
Jesus loves the little children,
All the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white, All are precious in His sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world. He’s got the whole world in His hands. He’s got the whole wide world in His hands. He’s got the whole world in His hands. He’s got the whole world in His hands. Jesus loves me this I know. For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong. They are weak, but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so. |
